Mushy Peas
27 May 2026
Prognosticating is awesome.
Anyone with a spare Twitter account or podcast can explain why Meta’s stock is going to crash (or soar) or why AI is going to change everything (or nothing). You get to sound smart while simultaneously validating your choice to join Google instead of Meta. Best of all, you don’t have to do the hard work to make your prediction actually come true!
But it also means you’re not actually changing anything. You’re just pushing an idea around your plate like some mushy peas. Twenty minutes later, the peas are still sitting there.
Meanwhile, there’s probably something on your list you’ve been avoiding. Maybe it’s a little scary to start. Maybe it won’t feel great even if you finish it today because you won’t know if you got it right for days or weeks or quarters.
But that’s the work that leaves a (tiny, ever so tiny) impression on the world.
Lets do that instead.
(Yes, I appreciate the irony of writing this as a blog post)
